The words ‘pest control’ is as old as agriculture. Pest control is the term use to regulate or manage those species that is considered as pest because they usually damage or cause harm to human’s health, economy or ecology. There is always need to free crops from all the pest so that the food production will be maximize. The pest control’s job is to protect the crops or plants from the herbivores or those animals who mainly feed on plants.
Chemical pesticides were invented 4,500 years ago, it was the Sumerians who used sulphur compound as insecticides and about 4,000 years ago when Rig Veda a poisonous plant used for pest control. The ancient Egyptians and Chinese cultures are known to use chemical pest control for industrialization and mechanization of their agriculture.
Today, most people are concerned with nature’s chemical reaction to pest control, so they invented the biological pest control. It aims to eliminate pest with a minimal effect to the ecological balance of the environment.
